All concrete pools are not the same!
We often refer to a concrete swimming pool as a gunite swimming pool.
Gunite is a form of concrete that is applied to a surface pneumatically. The formula for concrete in a gunite application has a higher percentage of cement and a lower percentage of water than a “cast-in-place” or “shotcrete” concrete. It is applied extremely dry,
which allows the cement to bind with the aggregate with greater strength resulting in the strongest, watertight installation available.
With a gunite application, the design possibilities are limitless!

INTERIOR POOL FINISHES
The interior finish of a pool can transcend its design to a whole new level of style and beauty, but more importantly, different finishes offer varying degrees of durability. Explore the pool finish options below to find out which will best suit your needs and design aspirations.
LUNA QUARTZ
Considered an entry-level pool finish, Luna Quartz® looks like a traditional plaster but is much more durable. This 100% natural quartz finish combines one of nature’s hardest minerals with a specially engineered admixture Pebble Edge® that fortifies the cement. Quartz sand has been selected for it’s natural round qualities, these factors provide higher strength, more consistency, and smoother troweling material than any other quartz finish.
(It is important to note this type of finish may show trowel marks and color shading.)
PRISM MATRIX
Prism Matrix is a blend of small and medium pebbles with glass beads. The round stones and glass beads provide a very smooth and durable surface. The glass beads add sparkle and unique color combinations not available with natural stone only. Prism Matrix is the perfect finish for a smooth pebble feel with the brilliant look of glass.
SIGNATURE MATRIX
Signature Matrix uses the same small and medium pebble size blend as Prism Matrix without the glass beads. A variety of stone combinations allow for a wide variety of color choices. The combination of smaller and larger pebble sizes interlock and create a tight compaction, showing less cement and more pebble at the surface. The finish is very smooth with an excellent feel due to the roundness of the stone and tight compaction.
